In 1977, Direct Wire & Cable, Inc. was started in the garage of our owner Richard Witwer, who saw an opportunity to sell welding cable to welding distributors. Direct grew and expanded into an industry leader in the welding industry using strong relationships and high quality welding cable products. In 2012, Direct expanded into the power rental market offering temporary power cable, commonly used in emergency situations, concerts, and construction sites.
Direct Wire & Cable, Inc., located in northern Lancaster County Pennsylvania, expanded into one of the premiere wire factories in the United States, serving the welding, power rental, and industrial cable markets. Our 85,000 square foot wire factory is home to both our state-of-the-art wire factory as well as our assembly and packaging facility.
